Five FDR Tiger Techs were invited to the Verizon Corporate offices in NJ for a Learning Opportunity Visit. The students were allowed to view new concepts and product designs that were presented by Verizon Engineers. The students were allowed to ask questions, and saw firsthand STEM skills in action. The engineers were extremely interested in the Tiger Techs' opinions and perspectives.  It was a great opportunity for our Tiger Techs to see how their tech skills can be applied in the real world. The students were then asked to judge, as approximately 100 Verizon employees and engineers participated in a team building challenge. The students were asked to be judges of the event. Students judged the event based upon creativity and teamwork.  The engineers, Verizon employees, and executives then asked questions of the Tiger Techs as part of a panel discussion. Our students were asked questions about their current use of technology, and how they viewed the future of technology. The Tiger Techs then attended a presentation by NYU's Professor Perlin. He presented the information about how the future of virtual reality is going to evolve.  Verizon treated our students to lunch and provided transportation. Our students were enthralled and excited about the future of technology, possible career choices, and seeing STEM skills in action!
